Neurophysiology, the study of nervous system function, is one of the fundamental fields of neuroscience. It lies at the intersection of cells, neural circuits, behavior, and cognition, seeking to address one of science’s most complex questions: How does the brain function, and how does its activity shape our experience, behavior, and performance?

The Neurophysiology Journal was created with this perspective in mind, with the aim of providing a space for learning, dialogue, and the exchange of knowledge in this field. We hope this publication will be more than a collection of scientific content; rather, we envision it as a dynamic bridge connecting researchers, students, and everyone interested in neurophysiology.

In each issue, alongside highlights of recent scientific discoveries, we will explore neurophysiological concepts and phenomena from different perspectives—from cellular and synaptic mechanisms and neural circuit activity to the relationship between brain function, behavior, and everyday life. Featured research, conversations with distinguished scientists and researchers, emerging methods and technologies, and stories from the history of neuroscience will be other parts of this journey.

This publication is a collective effort. The participation of students, researchers, and faculty members in developing, reviewing, and contributing to its content will be an important part of its identity. We hope this collaboration will not only result in reliable scientific content, but also create opportunities for learning, gaining experience, and developing new ideas. In this inaugural issue, we have sought to present a diverse glimpse into the broad world of neurophysiology—from recent scientific discoveries and topics such as resilience to stories of science, research highlights, and techniques used to study the nervous system.

Our vision for the Neurophysiology Journal extends beyond publishing individual issues. Over time, we hope it will become a space for scientific dialogue, the exchange of new ideas and research, and connections across generations of researchers—a space that brings neurophysiology closer to society while opening new pathways for learning, collaboration, and research.

Ultimately, we hope this publication will grow into a dynamic part of the neurophysiology community—a place where new questions are raised, ideas are shared, experiences are passed on, and every issue opens a window onto what we still do not know about the brain and the nervous system.
